The Baby Shower was this past weekend in my hometown, Indian Wells, California! I got into town on Wednesday and had some alone time with my parents, which is always nice. Went for a hike to The Cross with my Dad, had a spa day with the girls at the Miramonte and enjoyed some fabulous food throughout the weekend!

Saturday, April 20th was the baby shower at my Godmother, Donna's house. It was absolutely beautiful and more than I could have ever imagined- thank you Mom and Donna (and Dad and Tom) for all your hard work. It was awesome to see so many friends from my childhood and adulthood and celebrate Baby Reed. The little guy is already spoiled with tons of goodies, clothes and fabulous shoes.....it just makes me melt to look at all the stuff! I got home Sunday night and showed Brian all the treats I was able to bring home with me and he is in awe of everything as well...and we still have a few boxes being shipped our way!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THE DAY SO SPECIAL AND LOVING BABY REED ALREADY...IT WAS TRULY A MAGICAL DAY THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET!

Today marks 31 weeks...only 9 weeks to go!!! I flew to California yesterday to kick off the Baby Shower weekend :) We hiked to The Cross this morning- we are at the top in this picture. Its a gorgeous day here today and the hike went pretty well with this big belly! First hike since we were here in December since good old Ohio is pretty darn flat. The mountains are just incredible! I am a little swollen from all the flights I have been on in the last week but other than that and some nasty heartburn, I am still feeling pretty good. I am really looking forward to this weekend and seeing everyone and showering Baby Reed!

Brian and I just got back from our last trip before the kid arrives....they call it a babymoon these days :)

We wanted to go somewhere warm, obviously! We planned on doing a few days in Key West and a few days in Miami but the plans changed when the fabulous weather here in Ohio delayed our flight and we missed our connecting to the Keys. We weren't too upset about it though, since our connecting flight was through Miami and we were heading there anyways. Instead of spending the following morning flying to the Keys, we decided lets cancel that plan and just do a few days in South Beach and a few days downtown Miami as planned. Then things got better- American lost our luggage so we went the entire stay in South Beach without our bag. American did let us go shopping on them so we made the most of it and hit the beach, rode bikes, had some fabulous food and enjoyed being on the beach. Luggage came and then we headed to downtown Miami where we checked into the Epic Hotel. I've never seen so much money....and that's after living in Orange County for years. We rented cabanas by the pool, found a great french bistro for breakfast and treated ourselves to a fabulous seafood dinner! Cathi and Allen joined us on our last night and took us on a sunset cruise where we got all the info on some of Miami's most fabulous and their homes on all the islands. Of course we had to end the trip with more travel troubles- a 4 hour delayed flight that got us home at 3am but it was all worth it! We are now some of the only people in Ohio with a tan and we enjoyed each other and some R&R before little Reed comes along.

Happy Easter - March 31, 2013

Today is Easter Sunday and we are 28 and a half weeks down, 11 and a half weeks to go!!! Brian, James and I went to a local winery here in Port Clinton to have Easter Brunch. We went with a few other coworkers of theirs and their families and had a delicious time :) They had an awesome spread and then an unbelievable dessert buffet with all the goods and a chocolate fountain. Needless to say, Reed and I were very satisfied! We came home and watched the movie RAD- a favorite of the Pearson boys growing up and then took naps. Brian and I just went for a walk with Patron since it is a gorgeous sunny and 50 degrees and just enjoying Easter Sunday...hope you all are too :)

Little Reed is one lucky guy...all the Grandparents have been working hard at sending us what they have managed to save over the last 30 years. The condition these things are in is unbelievable, you would never know they've been sitting in a dark attic or through hurricanes!

nursery: march 29, 2013

Round 1

Brian and I worked our little tails off this morning putting the nursery together. Brian had painted the room a few weeks ago but today was round one of getting Reed's room ready! We still need a few things but overall it is looking great. The rocking chair is so comfortable, you just melt into it! The pillow, boppy (cover) and blanket is from JuJu Bee, aka Grandma Reed... JuJu Bee is her preferred name as of now, we will wait to see what Reed calls her! Her sewing skills are coming out hot again and Brian and I can't wait to see the rest of what she has to make. Special thanks to Candy Sue and Godmother Courtney for Reed's first robes- he's going to look adorable as a wet duck and a zebra soon!

Today we entered into the THIRD TRIMESTER!!! Wooooohoooo!!! Only 13 weeks to go until we get to meet out little guy and we couldn't be more excited. Today I woke up with Brian at 5:45 and chugged this flat sugary drink and then waited an hour before heading to the hospital to give  blood and get the gestational diabetes test done. I won't hear about the results until Monday and I am a little nervous since I always liked my candy and sweets...and even more so these days :) I am still feeling good but getting some of the tiredness back that I experienced in the first trimester. Reed has been kicking and seems to be enjoying himself in my belly. I would too with the yummy treats!

Update: Gestational Diabetes test results came back and looks like I am in good shape sugar-wise. My iron is low but that doesn't seem to be a huge concern now! Great news :)
