reed: week 18

Week 18 with our boy was an other grand adventure!! We kicked the week off with a very memorable Monday, visited the pediatrician on Friday and then had a fun filled weekend of firsts :) Monday our boy was not a happy camper. He blew out 2 diapers, spit up everything and fussed the entire day. Let me say, it made me appreciate how good he is every other day! Tuesday came and he was back to his normal happy self so we aren't too sure what happened with Monday! Friday we had his 4 month checkup with the pediatrician. He took this round of shots pretty well, just a bit more crying than the 2 month ones. The Grandparents, Brian and I always guess his weight and we were all shocked to see that everyone was high- our big boy only weighed 16.8 pounds- which is definitely a good weight but we all felt that he looked and felt heavier than that. He grew 2 inches and another inch to his dome. He is in the 36% for height, 69% for weight and 99% for that head! We got the go ahead to start solids, so we have decided to start a new food item once a week. The first week was oatmeal, which he didn't love but also didn't hate. Exciting times for little Reed :)

reed: week 17

Week 17, Reed  turned 4 months old! It was a good week considering our weather here made a turn for the worse...

Not too many updates. Reed is a happy dude. Loves to smile. Loves to giggle. Loves to stick anything and everything in his mouth. He is watching Brian and I eat and looks really interested. We touch some of our food to his lips and enjoy all the funny faces he makes. We go to our 4 month pediatrician visit this Friday so we are curious to see how he stands with his weight, height, head circumference and everything else. He is still in his sleep regression and waking up 2 times in the night. Looking forward to the day he goes back to his awesome sleeping through the night routine :) Other than that, he is perfect.

four months old

Reed turned four months on Friday, October 18! We can't believe how fast the time is flying by. He has been giggling here and there but on Friday when Brian got home from work, he got Reed to laugh so hard for minutes on end! It was the cutest thing ever. We visit the pediatrician this Friday for his 4 month check up and can't wait to see how much weight he has gained and overall progress made. Not looking forward to the round of shots he is supposed to get and hope he handles it like a champ again! We are so in love with our little boy. He is so happy and healthy and we are so lucky.

reed: week 16

Our little boy is a few days short of 4 months. This past week has been great, even though he is still waking up 1-3 times a night. He just loves life and is always so happy and chatty, which makes for a fun day, everyday! This weekend we bought him a jumper because he loves to stand on us, so we thought it was time! The toy has so much to look at and play with and he is for sure overwhelmed but he just sits and talks to everything. Every now and then he tries to lick things- a habit we hope he grows out of :)  He hasn't quite gotten the jumping down but we know it won't be long until he is a mad man in it! We had one last beautiful weekend in the 70's this past weekend so we took advantage and played at the beach. Reed is doing better with tummy time and lifting that head up. He is chewing on his hands and learning to stick both fists in at the same time and is still drooling like crazy. He has found his laugh and it melts our hearts every time we hear it. He is just precious and we are obsessed with our happy little man!

reed: week 15

This week has been interesting! We got home from our road trip and it was nice to get back to our normal day-to-day routine....for a day! It seems that Reed has hit the infamous "4 month sleep regression" a little early. Gone are the days when we put him down at 7:30pm and he slept until 6am! He now wakes up 1-3 times a night again and rumor is this will last for 4-6 weeks. Since we have come to terms that our sleep is gone, we figured we make another change now too- no more being swaddled at night! It's been 4 nights that we have done this and it is so funny to watch him over the monitor. This guy has crazy legs and arms and his talking and moaning is out of control! Half the time we go in to check on him- thinking the noises he is making are those of being unhappy- he is sleeping! Its amazing he doesn't wake himself up. He is getting very close to rolling over- he has done it twice on accident this past week but he is perfecting those skills and should be rolling over on purpose soon. His giggling is becoming more apparent but we are still waiting for a full blown chuckle and can't wait for the day to get here and hear him laugh! Besides that- Reed is still his happy little self. A complete joy to be around everyday. We are truly lucky!

reed: week 13 & 14

The Pearson's are home from our first family road trip!

3,000 miles, 12 days, 10 states, 2 weddings and many first were had by Reed and he was exceptional throughout. We left Ohio and headed to Boston for Kristen Culgin's Wedding, then we headed to Rockland for a quick visit and then to the Cape for a few days of relaxation. After that we made our way down to Tennessee where we stopped in Knoxville, Nashville and then Memphis for Megan Millican's wedding before heading back home to Ohio. It was a great trip and Reed was awesome throughout. He is so happy and flexible with traveling and we are the luckiest parents.
