six weeks old

Reed is 6 weeks old in this picture and loving life! He is smiling and laughing more every day which is so exciting for Brian and I to watch. There is nothing better than seeing our little man happy :)  

reed: week five

 

Another week down, which calls for more adventures and firsts! Reed, Patron and I had a good week but the majority of it was spent inside the house since most the nation had record breaking temperatures and we got hit with that and a bad case of humidity. We would take a walk in the early morning before it got too uncomfortable for all and then enjoy the cool air conditioned home. We made up for it once the weekend came and Brian and Uncle James were around! We got some really good laughs and smiles in, went to the local air museum here, had our first family beach bbq day, and he took his first day nap in his crib! We also learned that he does not like mom to eat broccoli- he kept me up from midnight to 6am thanking me for it :) Other than a little fussiness here and there, we have one cool, relaxed and happy baby boy! He is just awesome!

one month old

July 18, 2013

Reed hit the one month mark yesterday!!! We had his one month check up this morning and he is doing great- weighs 10 pounds, 7 ounces and is 21 inches long. The picture above we took in his nursery and the picture below is from Washington Park here in Sandusky where they change the date everyday while the weather is nice! This past month has flown by but we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of everyday. Life is beautiful!

reed: week four

Brian and I can't believe our boy, Reed, is almost a month old already! This past week has been incredible and everyday is more fun with the little man :) Grandma and Grandpa Reed left on Friday- which was sad after being with them for so long. We made the most of our last week and ended with a delicious dinner at Chez Francois where Reed impressed everyone with his ability to sleep through a 3 hour fancy dinner! We dropped JuJu and BoBo off at the airport and picked up Lauren Nielson Radie who came to visit Reed and play for the weekend. It was a gorgeous couple of days and was fantastic to have her around. Today was the first day I have been by myself in 5 weeks- Reed, Patron and I went for a stroll before it got too hot and then before I knew it, Brian was off work and heading home. It was a good and fast day!! Below are some favorites from the past week...

three weeks old

 Reed hit the three week mark on Tuesday, July 9! He is just awesome. He got congested on Tuesday night so we visited the pediatrician, who said it is pretty common at that age and besides the stuffiness he was perfectly healthy. Other than that, he has been fabulous :)

reed: week three

Tomorrow our son hits the three week mark...the time is flying by! Reed gets more personality every day and I can't seem to take enough pictures of every coo, smile, outfit, etc. This past week Reed celebrated his first holiday with family here in Sandusky, we took him to our favorite stop in Cleveland, the Westside Market, and have been playing with fun shots for his room. Special thanks to BoBo and JuJu for watching Reed on Saturday night for a few hours so Brian and I could enjoy a date night out!

two weeks old

Tuesday, July 2

Our little Reed hit the two week mark Tuesday, July 2! His umbilical cord fell off yesterday as well, which is pretty standard- they say it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month to fall off. He is more aware and alert every day and is cuter and cuter every day too! Grandpa Reed, aka  BoBo arrived last night so we got a Dairy Queen cake to celebrate his 2 week birthday :) Reed had quite a few DQ blizzards throughout the last 9 months so we thought it would be fitting to celebrate with an ice cream cake on this day!! The boys (Grandpa, Brian, James and John) all smoked some cigars and took a few "pulls" of our homemade whiskey (thanks Uncle Christopher) to celebrate this day too... I am sure there will be many more celebrations here in the next 10 days before the Grandparents head home to the scorching desert!

Larry, Sue and Liz Fritsche are all coming up to celebrate the 4th of July with us here in Sandusky so it will be nice to have even more family around for Reed's first holiday celebration :) Let the fireworks begin!

reed: week two

 

 Week two with our little man has been wonderful! He is growing every day and such a joy to be around :) Our nights are better as well and we have established a bit of a routine...which consists of feedings every 2-3 hours! Hopefully that only lasts for another few weeks and our boy learns to enjoy sleeping as much as eating! Patron has been the best big brother to Reed so far and finally snuck a kiss in when Mom and Dad weren't paying attention- aka, taking a picture! Reed didn't cry, so he must have enjoyed the big kiss too. Lots of love in this house :)
