belly: 16 weeks
|
January 1, 2013 Baby Pearson at 16 weeks and the start to his/her birth year!!! We had another doctors visit on January 4th where we heard the heartbeat again (first heard it on November 29) and all sounds good! As the doctor would say, we have a "very active baby" in there :) We can not wait to find out the sex at the next visit on February 8, which will be our first ultrasound. We have names picked out for both sexes and we plan to have the doctor write on a piece of paper what the sex is so we can do our own reveal later that weekend!! |

the start to the second trimester
December 22, 2012 I felt fabulous throughout the entire first trimester, which I am very thankful for. I was more tired than usual and also really hungry but other than that, I was able to continue on like usual. This picture, Baby Pearson is at 14 weeks and at the top of The Cross Trail in Palm Desert, which my family all hiked the next morning after hearing the news. |
how we told work
December 6, 2012 Bechtel: This photo was taken at the Bechtel Christmas Party at Sawmill Creek here in Sandusky. Brian wanted to tell everyone he worked with prior to this shindig so when we walked into the cocktail hour we got a big CONGRATULATIONS! I also found out that my husband, who never gets nervous speaking in front of people, was nervous when he told his coworkers at the POD (plan of the day) meeting where he shouted the news for all to hear :) They are all very excited for us. Dr. Ryu: Dr. Ryu had taken me to lunch one day to talk about how things were going in the office. Our lunch was going well so I brought up the fact that Brian and I were starting our family and I most likely would only be with the office for another 6 months. I thought he understood everything as he congratulated me but when we got back in the car to go back to work, we were talking about wine and I said "I wont be having any of that for a few months" and he looked confused. He asked if I was not drinking while we "tried" and I said "Dr. Ryu, we tried and we did it! I am 3 months pregnant". He stopped the car, pulled the E-Brake and was in shock He is very excited for us. |
how we told family
The Big Reveal Brian and I wanted to share the news in person with our immediate family, which actually worked out perfect. The Pearson's were in town for Thanksgiving and we went to California to see the Reed's for Christmas. Pearson Family: When Cathi, Alan, James and John were in town for Thanksgiving, we gave everyone an envelope with one of these pictures inside. They opened it up and were ecstatic, as were we to finally share the news with someone!! We made a call to Kevin, who was out in California and told him he was going to be an uncle as well. They had strict orders to keep this a secret until we shared the news with the Reed's in December. Reed Family: We put these pictures on coasters and had Bob, Judy, Christopher and Greta all open one when we finally arrived to Indian Wells. My Godparents, Tom and Donna, were also at the house so they heard the news as well. Everyone was very excited and the secret was officially out!! |
belly: 10 weeks
Baby Pearson at 10 Weeks My belly right before Thanksgiving....when we shared the news with the Pearson's who came to Sandusky to celebrate Thanksgiving with us!!! |
how we found out...
MI Tailgate: October 13, 2012 After our "before kids trip" to Roatan in August, Brian and I were ready to explore the idea of having children. When we returned home it was game on, whatever happens, happens! Fast forward 2 months...Brian and I went to the Michigan football game to meet up with my college friend, Lindsay aka "Chappy" and her boyfriend, Bryan, on Saturday, October 13. I knew we had been looking forward to this next chapter so I took an at home test on Friday before we headed to Michigan to play with these two. Test was a negative so we continued on and tailgated like our usual selves :) The following day I didn't feel good so when we returned home to Sandusky, I took another test. Positive. I was in shock! A good shock! Brian was out walking Patron and as soon as I heard them in the hall I opened the door and shared the news! We were both very surprised and excited! |
