My 1st Birthday Party!

We celebrated Reed's FIRST Birthday this past weekend! Bobo and JuJu came into town, along with Reed's Godparents, CoCo and Taylor. We all had a delicious dinner at our house Friday night and then took everyone to our favorite breakfast joint, Cafe Rae, Saturday before we kicked off the festivities down at the Dana Point Harbor. We played some corn-hole, BBQ'ed, opened presents and then it was SMASH time! Reed did quite well....thoroughly enjoyed himself and the mess he made!

What a great weekend and end to an amazing year...can't wait to see what this year will bring for all! We love you little Birthday Boy!!! THIS MUCH.

reed: one year old!

Happy Birthday to our boy, Reed!

It's been a long time since the last post...but we have a good excuse ;) The Pearson Family has moved from Sandusky, Ohio to Laguna Niguel, California! Brian wrapped up the project at Davis Besse and is now working in Telecoms out of the office in Buena Park, CA. We left Ohio April 23 and had a fabulous and fun road trip out west. Saw friends in Chicago, family in St. Louis, friends in Kansas City, friends in Denver, played in Las Vegas and then made it to friends and family in California! It took about 2 weeks to find a place to live but it was all worth it and we are super happy to be in Laguna Niguel, CA...not too far from where Brian and I met in San Clemente 4 years ago!

Reed is now walking....took his first steps in April but learned to stand up on his own at the end of May and has been running ever since! He has 6 teeth and just said his first word, Da-Da on Monday...the day after Father's Day!!! He is a very happy and energetic boy who loves the outdoors, food and his big brother, Patron. Brian and I couldn't be more obsessed with our little family and we are going to soak up the sun, parks and beach for as long as we are here....or until the next Nuc Plant needs help ;)

reed: weeks 41 - 43

It's been a few weeks since we've blogged here...partly because I came home from Mexico, Grandma Pearson left, we've had nice weather and we are in the midst of finding out where we move to in 6 DAYS! The life of the Bechtel family, not knowing where we are going less than a week out :) Reed was fabulous while I was in Mexico and both he and Grandma really enjoyed their time together. He is still teething a bit and those top two teeth are just waiting to break through. Hopefully they do this before we leave or it could make for an even better road trip ;) He is still doing 3-4 steps on his own before taking a huge leap of faith into our arms...or the floor! We met another Bechtel Mom and daughter and have been hanging out with them a lot- which has been super...wish we met them back when they got on the project in January! We visited Put In Bay one last time, met the Easter Bunny, went to the park and participated in his first Easter Egg Hunt and enjoyed his last snow fall on April 14th!!!! Reed is a little fire ball and we love him to pieces!

reed: week 40

Our little boy is a total little man these days....eating like a champ, owning his walker, taking his first few steps, standing by himself and getting his curious little hands into everything :) He is still teething like crazy- assuming it is still those top two. He walks to the mail room with his walker everyday and then meets Dad at the door at 5:15! He loves his walker but it getting so good with his balance that he takes his hands off and stands alone. He took his first few steps a few nights ago although he still has a little work to do there! He's just a happy little camper and a smart little guy. Grandma Pearson comes today to stay for the week while I go to Mexico for my brothers wedding...first real trip away from the little guy and I know I will miss him like crazy!!

reed: week 39

It's amazing what Reed is able to learn in a week! He is so strong and determined and HAPPY! He has mastered the walker routine down and we now do laps in the hallway- especially around 5:15 when Dad gets home!!! Reed makes so much noise as he runs through the hallway waiting for Dad...I am sure our neighbors enjoy it :) He is making more noise and learning new noises and it is so cute to sit back and listen. He is such a joy and we are so blessed.

nine months old

Can't believe Reed is already 9 months old today! Time has flown by- even with it being the longest, coldest, snowiest winter on record! He is doing great and learning so much so quickly! We love our little bundle of joy THIS MUCH!

reed: week 38

Another fabulous week with our little man! He is so much fun but also so much work these days... He is a curious little guy and tries to figure out everything, especially the things that we try to keep him away from! He is walking better on his walker, talking more and more and just the happiest little guy!
